We’re back in Los Angeles and the first thing I noticed when we came up from our parking structure was the constant hums of air conditioners that work tirelessly to keep me and my neighbors cool. Electric cicadas.
Chris, while a SoCal kid from birth, didn’t seem to have grown up with the air conditioner on at all times. I on the other hand, growing up in NY, would have the air conditioner on from late May to late September. This causes a little rift here at home, because Chris wants the air off and I want the air on and wish it could be cooler!
The last few weeks in Berkeley were great even with stressful situations we all find ourselves in from time and time again… I really enjoyed seeing the friends that I was able to see, I loved revisiting old spots that once were my go-to’s and loved spending my best friend’s birthday weekend with her - from all the snacks, to the beach, to taking Ollie for bath, to getting really really high and talking for 2 hours non-stop about our love for doodles (Chris wasn't high but was hella annoyed). Sorry hun!
Once we got to LA, we cleaned up the house a bit, I attempted to unpacked and finished out my work day. Then I went and I joined a gym… scary but exciting! I am contemplating sharing my ~* gym journey *~ on my main IG or on a second IG account. I should prob just keep it all on my main IG. I am trying to get more gym time in, so I can get more food time in yaaaknow?! Gotta balance things out a bit.
This week I have reconnected and fallen deeper in love with caffe con panna (espresso with whipped cream) all over again. Thanks to Michele for reminding me. This is my recipe for the week, go out, try some espresso with whipped cream! Sometimes the milk in a latte can be too much during these hot ass days.
Another treat? I was able to get my hands on some delicious daifuku from my friend Gemma. Each set of grape daifuku comes with two variety of grapes, Black Beat and Shinano Smile and a strawberry daifuku. These were, as anything she makes, so special
I am so looking forward to getting back to the farmer’s market this weekend and I cannot wait to get back on my market haul bullshit.
‘til next week my friend,
